A travel company in Addis Ababa. For ten years we’ve guided travellers from around the world across Ethiopia, first for partner companies and now under our own name.
Why we started
A thin version of Ethiopia
Too many visitors were coming to Ethiopia and seeing a thin version of it. They stayed in the wrong part of town, paid tourist prices for everything and missed most of what makes the country remarkable. Then they went home and told people Ethiopia was hard work.
We started this company to change that.

Our founder
People usually come here expecting one kind of country and find several. My job is to make sure they see enough of it to understand why I keep coming back.
Dejene Hodes was born in Ethiopia and educated in the United States, and still divides his time between the two. That background shapes the company: we understand what international travellers expect, and we know how Ethiopia actually works.
Dejene oversees every trip, from the first planning call to the day you fly home, and travels with many groups himself. He also makes Gift of Ethiopia, a YouTube channel about the country’s places, people and history.
