Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon your arrival at Bole International Airport, our team will be there to welcome you, regardless of your arrival time. For morning arrivals, you can begin your tour after checking into your hotel. If you arrive in the afternoon or evening, your adventure will commence the next day.
Day 2: Discover the Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela
Fly to Lalibela and witness the wonder of the rock-hewn churches, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These ancient churches, carved out of solid rock, hold religious and historical significance. Experience the unique atmosphere of this sacred place as you delve into its rich history.
Day 3: Explore Gondar's Royal Enclosure
Explore Gondar’s Royal Enclosure and Lake Tana Travel to Gondar, home to the Royal Enclosure, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at the grand castles and palaces that once housed Ethiopian emperors. Later, visit Lake Tana, the source of the Nile River, and uncover its serene beauty.
Day 4: Journey to Axum
The Ancient Capital Fly to Axum, a city that served as the capital of a 2000-year-old empire. Discover the archaeological wonders, including ancient obelisks, stelae, and historical artifacts. Immerse yourself in the rich history and significance of this ancient city.
Day 5: Return to Addis Ababa
Farewell Dinner Fly back to Addis Ababa and visit either the Ethnographic Museum or the National Museum, where you can encounter the famous “Lucy,” a 3.18 million-year-old skeleton. In the afternoon, indulge in optional souvenir shopping. In the evening, experience a delightful farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant, featuring dancers and musicians from diverse ethnic groups. If needed, we will arrange your transfer to the airport for a late-night departure.
