Itinerary

Day 1: Addis to Arbaminch

Discover the Dorze Tribe Fly to Arbaminch, a city noted for its diverse peoples and culture. Upon arrival, our driver will transfer you to your accommodation. In the afternoon, embark on a short drive to visit the Dorze Tribe on Guge Mountain. Marvel at their exceptional cotton-weaving techniques and traditional beehive-shaped houses constructed from organic materials. Immerse yourself in their unique way of life and traditions.

Day 2: Arbaminch to Turmi

Konso and Hammer Tribe Exploration After breakfast, journey to Turmi, a small town and the gateway to the Omo Valley tribes. Along the way, stop at Konso to visit their villages, known for their agricultural terracing methods and wooden totems honoring the deceased. Continue further south to Turmi, where you’ll visit the famous Hammer tribe. Admire their exquisite pottery, intricate hairstyles, and ornate adornments, symbolizing a woman’s husband’s wealth and prestige.

Day 3: Drive to Omorate

Encounter the Dassenech Tribe Travel towards Omorate on a paved road to meet the Dassenech tribe, living on the Omo River’s shores across Sudan, Kenya, and southern Ethiopia. Experience their seminomadic lifestyle and unique hair buns. Cross the Omo River by local boat to reach one of their villages. On the way back to Jinka, visit the lush villages of the Ari people, who grow coffee and fruits in beautiful surroundings.

Day 4: Discover the Mursi Tribe

Return to Addis Abeba Embark on an early morning drive through Mago National Park to visit one of the Mursi tribe’s villages. Encounter the famous women with clay-disc lip extensions and the men
engaged in traditional stick fighting rituals. The Mursi are one of Africa’s last tribes where women wear large pottery or wooden discs or plates. After the incredible experience, return to Jinka and transfer to Jinka Bako Airport for your flight back to Addis Abeba.
